Mission Statement
Loving God, Loving People, Serving the World

Our Mission is based on:
The Great Commandments
"Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
Love your neighbor as you love yourself."
Matthew 22:37-39

The Great Commission
"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:19-20

To lead individuals and families to Know God through Jesus Christ and to lead them to total health by providing contemporary worship and outreach services, and practical challenging teaching from God's Word. Our aim is to have 1000 Christians Making Him Known to 10,000 people a month.

Core Values
Family: Families are the initial grouping that God designed and are the primary place where God intends for evangelism, discipleship and mentoring to take place. We are committed to teach on families, provide families with tools, facilitate programs for families, emphasize God's design for marriage and work to develop healthy families.

People: There is nothing in this world more important than people. People are more important than schedules, programs, polished performances or spilled coffee. Intimate relationships are vital to personal growth. Because people are important and relationships are vital, we will encourage people to build intimate relationships with others in the body. This includes the 'not-yet-reached'. The 'not-yet-reached' are so important that we will purposely accept people 'where they are,' believing that God will transform their lives. This impacts how we do church, what we emphasize, how we love people, the words we use and our emphasis on world evangelism. Reaching the "not-yet-reached" is the heartbeat of God. We will do what pleases Him. This means deliberate effort in America and throughout the world.

Community Influence: The local church is the hope of the world, 'the salt of the earth and a light set on a hill.' We are committed to SWAG being known as a church of integrity. We purposefully look for ways and work to positively affect the community

Worship and instruction in the Word: Worship and instruction in the Word are the primary tools that God has chosen to use at South Whidbey Assembly to reach people and grow people. We are committed to the full use of these two tools. We are committed to understanding and practicing worship 'in spirit and in truth.' We are committed to upholding the timeless truths of God's Word without adding to the Word of God. We are also committed to teaching God's Word at every level in a way that is understandable and relevant. We understand that obedience to God's Word is mandatory and not optional. We understand that it is through obedience to God's Word that God is able to bless the church and that God receives the greatest glory.

Prayer: We are committed to prayer. Jesus said 'apart from me you can do nothing.' God is our source. Total dependence upon God brings about the 'abundant life' that Jesus taught about. We must pray as if everything we do depends upon God.

Supernatural: We value the supernatural work of God's Holy Spirit. We are committed to the gifts of the Spirit and the miracles described in the book of Acts and throughout the New Testament are intended for God's church today. We seek for the miraculous and give God access to move in miraculous ways.

South Whidbey Assembly - A place where people connect with God, others, and God's purpose for their lives.
