Generosity

Generosity is the way of Jesus.  It could be said that Jesus was the most generous person who ever lived, He gave His life (John 3:16) so that we might live.  As a Jesus follower, our response to this generosity is to joyfully give our time (volunteering), talents (offering our abilities), and treasures (finances). We believe the local church has the answers for the world’s greatest needs.  Giving financially is one of the ways we partner with Jesus to bring hope to our local community and around the world.

Philosophy of Giving / What is Tithing?

Those who call SWAG their home church regularly give their tithes to the Lord. Tithing is the practice of giving 10% of a person’s income back to God through the local church, as taught in the Bible (Malachi 3:10; Hebrews 7:5).

When we give our tithe, we express worship in a real and tangible way by showing God that He is first in our lives. We demonstrate our trust in His ability to provide and care for us, allowing us to be part of a story much bigger than any one of us.

People often give other offerings beyond their tithe amount for world missions, the caring fund, and other local ministries and organizations that the church supports. When a person honors God with their tithes and offerings, they are blessed by God in various ways (Proverbs 3:9-10), the church is made financially sound, and people across the world receive support and help. Jesus referred to a connection that exists between giving and a person’s heart and spiritual life. For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be (Matthew 6:21).

Yes. In many ways giving online is safer than writing a check because an electronic gift cannot be lost or stolen. The security of the system is continually managed by Paypal, who securely processes our online giving.

You can give online from a checking account(through your banks bill pay.)  PayPal accepts Debit, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay and/or Venmo.

Not to you. You will not pay any fees with an online gift using PayPal.  (However, PayPal does take a percentage of every transaction, so if you are able to use your banks bill pay by check feature, that would be the preferred method of giving.   SWAG will receive 100% of your gift using your banks bill pay system.)
